4th Annual Firecracker AA/AAA World Series Moves into Bracket Play
SPACE COAST COMPLEX, MELBOURNE, FL – Pool play has been completed and brackets have been formed – things are heating up here at the Firecracker World Series.
In the 9U Pool, 5 Star National Grubbs and East Boynton Blaze took care of business with both teams going 3-0 averaging 1 or fewer runs allowed per game. Christian Chen of the Blaze went up to the plate looking to take his team all the way to the finals hitting a staggering .857 AVG with 6 H, 2 HR, 3 XBH, 7 RBI and 4 SB. Smith Hobbs of 5 Star National did it on both sides of the field hitting .667 while throwing 4.0 IP with 7 K posting a 0.00 ERA.
The 10AA Pool play ended with the PLO Bulldogs White and CFL Spartans posting 2-0-1 records and taking the top spot in each of their pools. AJ Quintero of PLO looked to make himself a household name hitting .833 with an OPS of 2.042 with 5 H and 6 RBIs. Braden Ellers from the Spartans did everything he could to get his team that top spot. Ellers had 6 H with 10 SB while also dominating opposing hitters in 8.0 IP striking out 9.
The pool in 10AAA ended with Ultimate Champion Sports taking the top spot going 2-1-0 with a 4.33 run differential. Javari Edgecombe and Andrew Seymour Jr. did everything they could to out-do each other as both hit well over .800 and combined for 11 H and 3 XBH.
11AA brought out the best in Panthers Orange who took the top spot. Hudson Livek and Brayden Politz held their own at the plate hitting a staggering .800 apiece. Livek took it one step further with 3 2Bs and 4 RBI.
11AAA was all Astros Doral as they held a majority of the top spots in offensive categories. Leivy Hernandez and Maddox Perdomo led the team with 6 H each while Hernandez had 3 2Bs and 7 SB. Perdomo did his part on the bases as well stealing 9 total bags.
12AA had its’ share of stars as Showtime – Newberry was top in their class in pool play. John Larimore hit 2 HR driving in 7 runs and posting a 3.050 OPS to send Showtime into bracket play with high hopes for the rest of the week.
Charlotte Crushers and WOW Factor Florida move out of pool play going undefeated in the 12AAA division. Giovanni Aponte-O’Neill for WOW Factor went 5-for-9 at the dish with 6 RBI, 4 R, 1 2B and 2 SB to help his team head into the next stage of the tournament with a lot of momentum. Banks Kennedy is hoping to win a Silver Slugger going 3-for-5 with 4 R, 4 RBI and 2 HR for the Charlotte Crushers.
13AA saw 100 MPH Club go 3-0 in pool play averaging just under 7 runs scored per game. Pedro Villar and Marcel Pedreira combined for 11 H in these 3 games. Villar went 6-for-6 with 3 RBI, 2 R, 2 2B, 2 3B and 2 SB as he looks to continue his dominance at the dish.
The 13AAA saw 3 different teams go undefeated but Seal Team Baseball National 13U edged out KC Roos American Royal and Extreme Performance based on run differential. Seth Saggesewants everyone in Melbourne to remember his name posting a .800 AVG at a 2.489 OPS with 2 2B, 1 3B and 5 SB.
14AA also had 3 teams tied at the top at 3-0-0 with Inferno 14U securing the 1 seed over FL Oppo Tacos and Blue Collar Baseball. Brayden West went to work for Inferno going 4-for-5 with 4 H, 5 RBI, 3 3B and 1 BB.
Another tie at the top left Southern Brand Dudes and GBC Prep Stars 2028 in a great spot for the rest of the week in the 14AAA division. The 1 seed does belong to The Dudes thanks in part to Maverick Nelson’s abilities at the plate. Going 8-for-10, Nelsonposted 7 RBI, 2 2B, 1 3B, 1 HR and 5 SB without striking out.
A lot of good baseball has already been played but things are certainly heating up here at the USSSA Space Coast Complex – be sure to follow along the rest of the week to see who gets crowned Firecracker World Series Champion.
