Easton Elite World Series – Bring On The Brackets 12U

SPACE COAST COMPLEX, MELBOURNE, FL – The race for first in 12U is heating up with 4 teams going undefeated in pool play.

The Motor City Hit Dogs take the top spot in 12U going 3-0 and allowing 1.33 runs-per-game while averaging 9 runs scored. It was a community effort for the Hit Dogs when it came to securing the #1 spot. With a team batting average of .424 with 24 hits and 12 extra-base hits and only 7 total strikeouts. There was no stopping the prolific offensive onslaught from Motor City. Madden Shepardson did his part going 3-for-5 with 3 R, 2 RBI, 1 2B, 1 HR and 4 SB in pool play. Vinny Zabloudil held his own on the mound throwing 4.0 IP with 6 strikeouts allowing just 3 hits posting a 0.00 ERA.

Posting a 3-0 record as well, the CBU Hawks hold the #2 spot in 12U based on runs allowed at 2.33 per game. The Hawks scored a total of 27 runs on 29 hits hitting a collective .401 batting average. The Hawks tore up the base paths with 21 stolen bases and 12 extra-base hits with 9 of those being doubles. Pitching was no issue as Jace Currie backed up his team’s offense with some timely pitching. Currie threw 5.0 IP allowing 4 hits, 2 earned-runs while striking out 10 batters. Currie also did his part at the plate going 4-for-7 with 4 runs, 4 RBIs, 2 2Bs and 1 HR. Nolan Ange helped the cause going 4-for-7 with 4 runs, 3 RBIs, 1 HR and 7 stolen bases.

Following along with the undefeated trend, the Arkansas Prospects – Shepherd also went 3-0 in pool play with a 2.67 average runs allowed per game. The Prospects collected 20 hits on 7 extra-base hits. Chase Fleming was 3-for-9 with 4 runs and 2 RBIs and 6 of his team’s 15 stolen bases. Paxton Lynch pounded baseballs going 4-for-8 with 2 runs and 5 RBIs on 2 2Bs and 2 stolen bases.

Taking home the 4th spot in 12U are Five Star National Mid-Atlantic 12u. Five Star collected 24 hits with 18 runs and 15 RBIs hitting an average of .325. Braxton James led the team in batting average hitting .600 with 3 H, 2 RBIs, 1 2B and 2 R. Pitching was handled by Nolan Hall. Hall threw 3.0 IP allowing 3 H, 0 R striking out 3.

All 4 teams will have to wait until Tuesday before getting the chance to take the field again.
